Winter Savings Tips

This holiday season saving money is probably one of the top items on your priority list! We like to be helpful to our customers so we thought it would be a good idea to share a few energy and money saving tips as we near the cold season. Here are a few tips to consider when trying to stay cozy and save on costs!

1. Close off rooms you aren’t using. This helps keep the heat where you want and need it for optimum home comfort!

2. Keethe fireplace damper closed. This will help heat form escaping and keep you toasty warm.

3. Use your window treatments to your advantage. Open the curtains or blinds in the daytime to let the sunshine in. Close them at night to keep the heat in.

4. Use flannel sheets! Warm, cozy flannel sheets (and extra blankets!) provide warmth while you sleep.

5. Winterize your windows. If you don’t have storm windows, use a plastic film where a clear view isn’t needed. The plastic/film can help curb drafts.

6. Keep your heating vents clear! Don’t place rugs or furniture over your vents so warm air can circulate efficiently.
